Mecka AI nears a $500 million valuation for robot training data

Mecka AI, which collects human motion data to train humanoid and other robots, is close to a round led by Sequoia Capital at a valuation of about $500 million. The report rests on two people with knowledge of the deal, and the terms are not final. The round comes only three months after the company announced $60 million led by Framework Ventures. Founded in 2024, Mecka has four co-founders, none with a robotics background; it pays people to record everyday tasks such as making coffee or fixing cars using body sensors and smartphones. In June it projected ending 2026 at a $100 million annual run rate. Rival data collector XDOF was reported nearing a $1.2 billion valuation.
