New Siri built with Gemini arrives with iOS 27 on September 14

Apple will release iOS 27 on Monday, September 14. The central change is a new Siri built with Google's Gemini models. The assistant has its own app and can be called up by swiping down from the dynamic island. It runs on next-generation models that work both on the device and on Apple's private cloud compute infrastructure. The update covers a wide list of models, including the iPhone 11 and the second-generation SE, but the advanced AI-powered Siri features will work only on iPhone Duo, iPhone Air, iPhone 17 Pro, 17 Pro Max, 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max. Some features will not be enabled in every region or language because of local law. The release also adds an interface transparency setting and faster app launches.
