WhatsApp begins testing native support for third-party AI agents

WhatsApp has started testing native support for third-party AI agents, according to Webrazzi's weekly AI roundup. Under the new system, users can connect up to five personal agents to their account and chat with them directly inside WhatsApp. The feature lets agents built by other companies run inside WhatsApp alongside Meta's own assistant. The roundup does not say in which countries it will open or which providers will be accepted. Over the same period Meta connected its own personal agent, Muse, to email, calendar, payment, shopping and smart home applications, where it can carry out actions on the user's behalf.
